The inaugural Ladies’ Golf Tournament 2025 is poised to be a landmark event on Malaysia’s sporting calendar. Hosted by The Mines Resort & Golf Club, in collaboration with the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) and presented by Golden Horse Digital Investment Bank, this championship is more than a competition. It is a powerful platform dedicated to celebrating women in golf, inspiring the next generation, and honoring the founder’s long-standing vision.
Taking place from October 12-15, 2025, at the Mines Resort & Golf Club in Mines Resort City, Selangor, the tournament will feature 60 of Malaysia’s finest female golfers—30 professionals and 30 amateurs—competing in a 54-hole stroke play event for a total prize purse of RM100,000.
The tournament’s vision is a bold one, as shared by The Mines Resort & Golf Club founder, Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew. He hopes that one day, the tournament will be known as “the Ladies” in the East, much like the famous “Masters” tournament in the West. He also highlighted the importance of creating more opportunities for local players, stating, “Our pros, in terms of rewards, they are still not there yet. In terms of skill, they are already there but not in terms of opportunity. No tournament means no prize money and as a professional, you live on prize money.”
This championship also marks a continuation of The Mines’ legacy as a pioneer in women’s golf. In 2000, the club proudly hosted the historic Women’s World Cup of Golf. With The Ladies’ 2025, the tournament reaffirms Malaysia’s place on the international golfing stage.
