The Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour has announced its 2025 schedule – sans a title sponsor – following the departure of UMW Toyota Motor after a two-year sponsorship stint of the domestic professional circuit.
The calendar boasts a prize fund of over RM2 million and features eleven events, including the completed PKNS Selangor Masters (co-sanctioned with the Asian Development Tour) and the season-opening Seri Selangor Championship.
A unique women’s only event – THE LADIES – is also pencilled in for August, with The MINES Resort & Golf Club agreeing in principle to sponsor and host the RM300,000 tournament.
Unlike previous years, the Tour will not travel to East Malaysia due to logistical and cost reasons with several traditional venues such as
Kelab Golf Perkhimatan Awam, Bukit Jawi Golf Resort, Royal Pekan Golf Club, Royal Pahang Golf Club, Port Dickson Golf & Country Club, Kelab Rahman Putera Malaysia and Palm Resort Golf & Country Club returning as host venues.
“The Professional Golf of Malaysia will continue its mission of developing professional golf in Malaysia and 2025 marks the fifteenth year of the PGM Tour. Having a vibrant and competitive tour is critical if we are to continue to grow the talent pool and raise the general standard of professional golf in the country,” said PGM general manager Nik Mustapha Nik Mohamed.
We are working closely with the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) to develop our talented amateur players by providing them with opportunities to play in PGM-organised events. In fact, a growing number of national amateurs have earned their playing rights on merit through our Qualifying Schools,” he added.
